PHOTOS TUDARCO AT MIKOCHENI

Life at TUDARCo

LIFE AT TUMAINI UNIVERSITY  MIKOCHENI  CAMPUS
Tumaini University Dar es salaam College is one of universities in Tanzania offering BA in Mass Communication. It was started in 2001 at Kinondoni being its head quarter.

Mass communication department was shifted from Kinondoni to  Mikocheni in 2010 due to the lack of enough lecture  rooms at Kinondoni main Campus. This was good plan because the number of students pursuing Mass communication course is dramatically increasing. This caused the class to be conducted in the morning and evening session.

Although there are   good lecturers at Mickocheni Campus the environment does not favour much practical learning for students to get what is needed especially in areas of news broadcasting. This needs one to practice more on how to be in front of camera while presenting news, also the use microphone, sound mixer and other studio equipment.

The college does not have any studio for practical training. Reliable computer laboratory connected to internet, or modern automated library where the students can get chance to learn on how to use new media technology of accessing information through internet.

Some students do gather themselves under trees around the college for discussions, for those who have laptops with modems they use to connect to internet and access information.

Another problem is high fee cost. The students at Tumaini University are paying fees of  2.5 million Tanzanian shillings per year, which is  higher than other colleges in Dar. This courses some of them to not pay fees on time. Despite of all these we struggle to acquire excellent education for better life.

Christmas and New Year 2012

As we approach the end of our beloved 2011 we have experienced bad natural disaster In Dar of which some of our relatives, friends and coligues lost their lives due to floods. We have to give thanks to God for every thing, we are still surviving and we have to give hope to Him Who  enables us to live.
Let me wish all who view my blog, "Merry Christmas and Happy  New Year 2012"
